Tours: Library and Museum of Freemasonry
Tours of Freemasons' Hall

Freemasons' Hall has been the centre of English Freemasonry for 230 years. It is the meeting place for over 1000 Masonic lodges and is the headquarters of the United Grand Lodge of England, the oldest Grand Lodge in the world. The building, which is listed Grade II*, dates from 1927-1933. The architects were H V Ashley and F Winton Newman. The interior of the building is richly decorated. The Library and Museum organises free tours of the Grand Temple and ceremonial areas.
Tour Times - Monday to Friday

When the Grand Temple is not in use there are up to 5 tours per day at 11am, 12noon, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Each tour starts in the Library and Museum. Visitors are asked to note that photographic ID may be required to be shown before the tour commences.

Tour Times - Saturday

Tours are only available on a booked basis subject to a minimum 7 days notice and completion of this booking form (PDF opens in a new window). One tour only is made lasting from one and a half to two hours. Tour parties should assemble at 10.15am ready to move off at 10.30am. Each tour will commence from Great Queen Street entrance (or as otherwise instructed) and visitors are asked to note that photographic ID may be required to be shown before the tour commences.

As guides are present specifically for these tours, there is a booking fee of £1 per person, based on estimated numbers, (minimum £10, maximum £50). To book a Saturday tour please contact Miss M Eccleston on 020 7395 9251 to confirm the date required is available. If a group has to cancel its tour, the booking fee can be refunded or applied towards a rearranged booking if notification of cancellation reaches Miss Eccleston at least four weeks before the booked date.
