Scottish Masonic Records 1736-1950 was compiled by George Draffen (1910-86), Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Scotland (1974-6) and Grand Librarian of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Scottish Masonic Records is a historical gazetteer of all lodges established by the Grand Lodge of Scotland to 1950.

It fulfils a similar function for the Scottish lodges as John Lane’s directory of English lodges, and was evidently inspired by Lane’s work, but Draffen gives slightly different information, reflecting the Scottish situation. For example, since Scottish lodges have distinctive regalia, Draffen’s directory includes a detailed description of the colours of the lodge’s regalia. This database, compiled from the published book, has been provided by a third party software provider and the Library and Museum is unable to edit it or modify it.
